About Us

BILL SMITH
Bill is the official photographer for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks and the United Center. He has been a commercial photographer for over 35 years. Bill and his wife Lauren started ANDC in 2006 after privately sponsoring Cambodian children since 2002. They adopted twin boys from a Cambodian orphanage, which they met also in 2002. Bill has made over 30 trips to South East Asia since 1991.

LAUREN SMITH
Lauren has been with Henry-Lee and Company as the Senior Fashion Designer for 600 West. She regularly travels to New York, Paris and Hong Kong. Lauren has volunteered at Northwestern Hospital in the Emergency Room, has been a member of Junior League in Chicago and sits on several Fashion Industry Boards. Lauren graduated from Texas Christian University and the Fashion Institute of Technology with degrees in Elementary Education and Fashion Design. Lauren has traveled with her husband, Bill, to Cambodia for the last 8 years and shares a passion for Cambodia and a desire to help their children.

JOE O’NEIL
Joe has served as the ticket manager of the Chicago Bulls Basketball team for 28 years. His background includes operating restaurants and a limousine business. Joe is a regular volunteer with the CARA program in Chicago, offering counseling and tutoring to the homeless. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. Joe will make his 3rd trip to Cambodia in January 2008.

SUSAN O’NEIL
Susan is the President of Pro Speakers, Inc., a Chicago based speakers bureau and special events firm which books top athletes and speakers in the Chicago area. She is a volunteer with the DuPage County PADS program and works with hospice patients for Elmhurst Hospital. Susan worked in sports marketing for the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Cubs.

SHARON POWELL
Sharon works as a Graphic Designer for a Chicago food store chain. Her love of photography and travel brought her to Cambodia with her brother Bill in 2004. "I was in awe of the temples and the beautiful landscapes, but the friendliness of the Khmer people and the smiles from children draw me back each year.” Sharon and her husband Jeff sponsor 2 boys who live in an orphanage in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

ANNETTE JENSEN
A native of Denmark, Annette has worked for ANDC since October 2007. She has a great deal of business experience serving as Chief Operating Officer for a multi-million export company for ten years. She is a graduate of Copenhagen Business School. She has traveled to over 40 countries including developing countries from Vietnam, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Namibia and India. Annette is fluent in Danish, English and French and good working knowledge of German, Spanish, Swedish and Norwegian.
